Crimson Renewable Energy LP is a renewable fuels producer and marketer with strong energy industry production and logistics experience. Our primary area of focus is the production of biodiesel fuel.  Crimson Renewable Energy was originally formed as a business unit of Crimson Resource Management Corp, a leading independent oil and gas producer in California. Today Crimson Renewable Energy is a part of Crimson Midstream LLC, a holding company with operations in petroleum pipelines, petro-chemicals transshipment, and specialty asphalt products.

Crimson Renewable Energy operates the largest biodiesel production facility in California and distributes biodiesel to the wholesale market in the Western United States. In California, we currently offer bulk biodiesel fuel to the wholesale market from distribution locations in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, and Bakersfield. We are continuously engaged in forming partnerships with fuel wholesalers, refiners, terminals and other participants in the value chain for biofuels.

Crimson Renewable Energy is committed to excellence in its renewable fuel quality and storage and handling procedures. To ensure that our renewable fuels meet or exceed the highest industry standards, we have invested significant resources in onsite quality control and in biodiesel storage, terminal and additive blending assets. These measures include in-process testing ,and  post-production lot segregation and testing..

Development of Large Capacity Biodiesel Production Facilities.
Crimson Renewable Energy completed its first biodiesel production facility, located in Bakersfield, California, in 2009. This biodiesel production facility has the capacity to produce 25 million gallons per year, and is the largest of its kind in California, and the second largest in the western U.S. This facility is currently being upgraded to handle a wider variety of  raw materials, including ultra-low carbon feedstocks such as used cooking oils, waste animal fats, and waste corn oil derived from ethanol production.

Our Bakersfield facility, developed by Crimson’s in-house engineering team, is one of only a handful of biodiesel production plants in the U.S. that can fully utilize its crude glycerin by-product to produce 99%+ refined glycerin. Crimson is actively exploring opportunities for the development of additional large capacity biodiesel and glycerin production facilities throughout the U.S.
