Position: Plant Operator
Work Location: Bakersfield, CA
 
The Plant Operator is engaged in all facets of biodiesel and glycerin production and related loading/unloading operations while ensuring a safe and well-kept working environment.

Job Summary
  • Operates all plant equipment
  • Monitors process operating parameters and utility infrastructure operations (i.e. boilers, water treatment, HTF system, vacuum system, etc.)
  • Monitors and operates computerized plant control system
  • Makes multiple daily plant rounds checking equipment for possible problems
  • Recommends preventative maintenance or repair and undertakes minor repairs when possible
  • Troubleshoots processing problems and takes appropriate corrective action
  • Perform general housekeeping as needed
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions regarding production/operations and environmental, health and safety
  • Perform all duties in manner consistent with environmental, health and safety policies and objectives

Position: Lead Operator
Work Location: Bakersfield, CA
Supervises: Plant Operators
 
The Lead Operator is a plant operator who also has additional supervisory responsibilities for plant operators. The Lead Operator plays a leadership role in all facets of biodiesel and glycerin production and related loading/unloading operations while ensuring compliance with environmental, health and safety policies. Works with Plant Manager and Plant Engineer(s) to plan and schedule all plant operations.

Job Summary
  • Operates all plant equipment

  • Monitors and operates computerized plant control system

Position: Quality Control Technician
Work Location: Bakersfield, CA
Reports To: Quality Control Manager
 
The Quality Control Technician is engaged in all facets of lab testing for raw materials, in-process/production, and finished product quality control in support of biodiesel and glycerin production operations. This position also plays an important role in troubleshooting production issues and simulating plant production processes.

Job Summary
  • Operates all plant equipment
  • Perform multiple lab tests to support in-process and production quality control
  • Lab testing of finished production lots and quality control certification
  • Lab testing to troubleshoot processing problems, including lab simulation of existing and new production processes
  • Documentation and management of test results and process simulation results
  • Maintain a clean, neat and organized lab
  • Maintain all lab equipment and troubleshoot as necessary
  • Participate in meetings regarding production/operations, production and product quality control, and health and safety
  • Perform all duties in manner consistent with environmental, health and safety policies and objectives

Position: Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) Technician
Work Location: Bakersfield, CA
 
The Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all instruments, control systems and electrical equipment in the plant. The I&E Technician performs work of high skill in the inspection, calibration, repair, testing, adjustment, installation, and removal of all electronic and electrical plant equipment and systems.

Job Summary
  • Perform and document maintenance, calibration, installation, fault diagnosis, and repair of electrical, mechanical and pneumatic instruments and systems
  • Calibrate, troubleshoot and repair plant instrumentation i.e., transmitters, analyzers, control valves, switches, relays, etc.
  • Inspect, repair and remove all types of generators, transformers, switches, control equipment, wiring, electrical signal and communication systems, and storage batteries, and work with electrical systems
  • Work with a wide variety of instruments including pH, conductivity, ultrasonic, guided wave radar, mass flow, pressure transducers, RTDs, etc.
  • Work with MCCs and Allen Bradley VFDs
  • Maintain files, logs and drawings for all designated instrumentation and electrical equipment
  • Programming of automation systems (PLC and DCS)
  • Maintain instrumentation and electrical spare parts inventory to maintain plant reliability
  • Assist engineers and managers in conducting tests
  • Assist with quality control program and data recording
  • Complete other tasks as requested by Plant Manager
  • Perform all duties in manner consistent with environmental, health and safety policies
